Spot the Path
Spot the Path engages participants in art-based explorations through mapping. This exercise in psycho-geography is a collaborative formation of identity and belonging. Participants explore and mark personal daily journeys and sites of significance with coloured sticker “spots” on a huge map of their local area overlaid with a clear sheet. Over time dotty paths meander, overlay and build up to form an abstract, yet deeply meaningful informative representation of neighbourhood, reflecting its relationship to the participants. The resulting sheets are mounted on the wall, as an artwork.
