Simpson's Sofa
Site-responsive Art, Land Art, Environmental Art, Ecological Art.
Simpson’s Creek is a beautiful tributary waterway of the Brunswick River that flows through the town of Brunswick Heads. An elongated soil mound replicating the serpentine shape of Simpson’s Creek, this artwork is covered in turf on the creek side and planted in a range of low-growing indigenous plants facing the roadside. Functioning as a turf “couch”, Simpson’s Sofa contains a series comfortable nooks for people to lounge, engage and dwell in.
