ReMapped
Sculpture, Installation Art.
ReMapped was an exhibition composed of a series of installations using the mass-produced object the map pin as a starting point for artworks that engaged ideas about globalism, nationhood and consumption.
Bubble Nations
Bubble Nations comments on our interdependancy as nations across the globe by presenting the countries of the world as islands, each encapsulated in bubbles, arranged floating across the wall. Discs are encrusted with coloured map pins, each depicting a different country, however, separated nations cannot float along immune to spikes in global economics, climate and politics.
Succession
Another perspective in which to consider our interconnectedness, Succession portrays outlines of every country in the world from A-Z linked, spanning 20 metres across the gallery walls in the form of a frieze. Composed of over 16,000 multi-coloured map pins, the title implies: a line in which orders of inheritance follow, an unbroken chain of interconnection and the possibility of positive outcomes.
