Plant Creatures Lightboxes
During the workshops led by Joanne, children of Ferntree Gully immersed themselves in the practice of botany. They embarked on explorations of their local bushland, identifying plant species, collecting specimens, and mastering the art of pressing plants for preservation. Utilising these pressed plant specimens, the children created botanic collages depicting the area's indigenous fauna, including koalas, wallabies, and kookaburras. Artist John Power took photographs of the collages, which he then transformed into a series of five lightbox artworks. These artworks now activate Horologists Lane, captivating visitors to the Ferntree Gully Village day and night.
