Our Orchids

Our Orchids was an ephemeral site-specific community artwork located on the empty bowling field in the Queen Mary Botanic Gardens, St Arnaud in North Western Victoria, engaging the community through all the primary and secondary schools, local pub, community centres and the public library. Participants were invited to interpret one of the local endangered orchid types of the area on paper, which was then attached to a wire for installation. A field of over 1000 orchids was installed as a celebration of the precious flowers that need to be protected.
