Living Room

Site-responsive Art, Land Art, Ecological Art.

Sited on a property on the Bellarine Peninsula with a view across Port Philip Bay encompassing pastureland and metropolis from the You Yangs to Melbourne. Living Room is a new intervention in a landscape that has been cleared and farmed for over 100 years. A circular sculptural mound, over 12 meters in diameter with a single entry, surrounded by plantings of indigenous grasses, Living Room acts upon the viewer architectonically, swallowing you as you move deeper into its circular form. Sitting inside the space, the viewer is enveloped by grassy native tussocks and sedges specific to the site, that present a diverse and sustainable vision for land regeneration.
