Grains

Collage.

Grains is series of sandpaper collage panels informed by the story and materiality of sandpaper. Contemporary production of abrasive papers uses carborundrum, a synthetically produced material that replicates the composition of meteors. Grain’s multi-panelled collages present carborundrum in many forms and colours, as subject and object, dissembling and assembling representations of meteor showers and granular configurations to the point of abstraction.

Meteor Shower (Black and White) won the Discovery Art Prize.
